SSC Stenographer Admit Card 2024, Steno Exam Date, Paper Pattern @ssc.gov.in

The Staff Selection Commission will release the SSC Stenographer Admit Card 2024, on the official web portal, https://ssc.gov.in/. As per the notification, the admit cards will be issued at least ten days before the Stenographer exam date. Eligible candidates will be able to download the same after logging in to the official website using their application number and date of birth.

The recruitment was advertised in July 2024. The application link was opened from 26 July to 17 August 2024. Applications were invited for a total of 2006 posts. Applicants who submitted applications successfully are now looking for the SSC Stenographer Admit Card and Exam Date.

The applicants are searching for their ssc.gov.in Stenographer Admit Card. Candidates are therefore notified that the Staff Selection Commission will shortly release the admit card just 10 to 15 days before the exam on its official portal. So candidates are suggested to be prepared for the computer-based test as the recruitment authority may announce the exam date anytime.

The officials have mentioned in the official notification that the Stenographer CBT will be organized in October – November 2024. However, the exact date for the Stenographer exam has not been announced yet.

SSC Stenographer Selection Process and Exam Details

The SSC Stenographer Examination is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for recruitment to the posts of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and Stenographer Grade ‘D’. The exam is highly competitive and is conducted in multiple stages, including a Computer-Based Examination (CBE) followed by a Skill Test in stenography.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of two main stages:

  1. Computer-Based Examination (CBE):
    • General Intelligence & Reasoning: 50 Questions, 50 Marks
    • General Awareness: 50 Questions, 50 Marks
    • English Language & Comprehension: 100 Questions, 100 Marks
    • Duration: 2 hours (2 hours 40 minutes for candidates eligible for scribe)

    The CBE is an objective-type, multiple-choice examination conducted in both English and Hindi (except for the English Language & Comprehension section). There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

  2. Skill Test in Stenography: Candidates who qualify for the CBE will be shortlisted for the Skill Test, which is mandatory but qualifying in nature. The Skill Test involves a dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi, which must be transcribed on a computer:
    • Stenographer Grade ‘C’:
      • English: 40 minutes
      • Hindi: 55 minutes
    • Stenographer Grade ‘D’:
      • English: 50 minutes
      • Hindi: 65 minutes

Exam Pattern

  • Mode of Exam: The CBE is conducted online.
  • Negative Marking: Yes, 0.25 marks are deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Normalization of Marks: If the exam is conducted in multiple shifts, marks will be normalized.

SSC Stenographer Call Letter General Instructions

The call letter needs to be printed on an A4-sized paper by the candidates. Candidate’s information may be seen on this page, including their exam location and roll number. Pay close attention to the information in the call letter. If an error exists, contact the authority’s head office in person before the exam date.

The admit card for the computer-based examination will be available online about 10-14 days before the examination date. Candidates must download it from the SSC’s regional websites. It is mandatory to carry the admit card along with two passport-sized photographs and a valid photo ID proof to the examination centre.

Admit Cards for the Stenographer Exam will be released on the official website only. The Staff Selection Commission will not send the admit card through any other medium. The admit card will contain essential details like the candidate’s name, registration details, exam name, candidate’s photograph, examination timings, exam centre name etc. The applicants must check that the print details are correct. If an error is found, contact the exam authority before the exam date for necessary rectification.

Candidates should carry a valid photo identity proof in original along with the SSC Stenographer Admit Card print. Valid proof may be an Aadhar Card, PAN card, Driving License, Voter’s ID Card, Passport etc.

Candidates, who have successfully submitted their applications for the SSC Stenographer Exam, can download their admit cards by following the method provided below:

  1. First of all, visit the SSC Website link ssc.gov.in by using the link provided below.
  2. Now, On the homepage, you will see the link, Admit Card. Open that page.
  3. Here, you will see the link to visit the website of various regions of SSC like the Eastern Region, Karnataka Kerala Region, Southern,
  4. Western, North-Eastern, Central, North Western, and Northern Region.
  5. Choose the option of the region for which you had applied.
  6. It will land you on the SSC Website of that particular region.
  7. Here, again, choose the option of Download Admit Card.
  8. Then select the option SSC Steno Admit Card 2024.
  9. Enter the details like Application Number, password, etc.
  10. Press Submit and you will see your SSC Stenographer Hall Ticket 2024 for CBT on the screen.
  11. Download this exam hall ticket and carry a print copy of it to the exam hall.
