RRB NTPC 2020 Exam Dates Out (5th Phase), Admit Card, Exam Analysis & Selection Process

What is RRB NTPC 2020?

RRB NTPC 2020 exam dates have been announced by the Chairman of the Railway Board. The first stage CBT exam has commenced from December 28 onwards and will continue till the last week of March 2021. Earlier, the exam was scheduled to be conducted from December 15 onwards. The exam is conducted while observing the COVID-19 guidelines. RRB NTPC exam is conducted for 1.25 crore applicants. Indian Railways had released RRB NTPC 2020 notification under Centralised Employment notice no. CEN 01/2019. The exam is conducted to select candidates for Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) graduate and undergraduate posts in various Zonal Railways and Production Units of Indian Railways. A total of 35,208 vacancies will be filled through RRB NTPC 2020 exam. The notification was released in 2019 and the exam was scheduled to be conducted between June and September. However, the process is delayed due to the non-finalisation of the exam conducting agency and COVID-19 pandemic in the country. The exam is conducted in 15 languages.

With the approval for setting up of National Recruitment Agency or NRA by the Union Cabinet, going forward the preliminary exams of Railways will be conducted by the agency. A Common Eligibility Test (CET) will be conducted to appoint candidates for Group B and C posts. However, the stages for the further selection of candidates will be done by the RRBs.

RRB NTPC Admit Card 2020

RRB NTPC admit card for CBT 1 exam has been issued for the fifth phase. The admit card is made available on the respective official websites of RRBs. To download RRB NTPC admit card, candidates need to enter user ID and password. The hard copy of the admit card has not been sent to candidates by post.

RRB NTPC Syllabus 2020

Standard of questions prescribed in RRB NTPC syllabus is of Class 10, 12 and graduation levels. The mathematics section comprises questions from Number System, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportions, Percentage, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, etc. General Intelligence and Reasoning section will have questions from Analogies, Completion of Number and Alphabetical Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical Operations, Similarities and Differences, Relationships, Analytical Reasoning, Syllogism, Data Sufficiency, etc. General Awareness questions will be from the current events happening in and around the world.

RRB NTPC 2020 Vacancies

RRBs had revised the vacancies of RRB NTPC exam. Now, a total of 35,208 vacancies will be filled through this exam. Earlier, the vacancies announced for RRB NTPC 2020 Exam were 35,277. The vacancies were revised since the vacancies for DLW under RRB Allahabad were cancelled. Therefore, the overall vacancies decreased from 4,099 to 4,030.

RRB NTPC application form was available online. The application form was released on March 1, 2019. The last date to apply for RRB NTPC was March 31, 2019.  The last date of fee payment was April 5, 2019. The final date of submission of application form was April 12, 2019.

RRB NTPC 2020 Exam Day Guidelines

  • Electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, blue tooth, pen drive, laptops, calculators, wristwatches, are not permitted inside the exam centre
  • Pen, pencil, wallet/purses, belts, shoes, and ornaments, etc. are also not allowed inside the exam hall
  • Candidates must bring RRB NTPC admit card 2020 while appearing for the exam
  • Carry photo-identity proof such as Voter Card, Aadhaar Card, printout of e-Aadhaar (not Xerox copy of Aadhaar), Driving License, PAN card, Passport, Identity Card issued by the employer, College / University Photo ID card
  • Candidates must also bring one color photograph
  • Candidates must reach the exam centre an hour early before the commencement of the exam
  • Wearing of masks is compulsory
  • Social distancing is followed at the exam centre
