OTET Notification 2024 Out, Online Form Starts, Exam Date, Eligibility

Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, Cuttack has released the OTET Notification 2024 along with the complete schedule for the Odisha TET 2024 Exam. As per the schedule, The online application forms for OTET 2024 has been started on 24th June 2024 at www.bseodisha.ac.in and after the completion of the registration process, the OTET 2024 Paper 1 and 2 will be conducted on 9th August 2024.

The Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) is conducted in offline mode to assess candidates’ eligibility as primary and upper primary teachers and the candidates have to qualify for the exam with minimum qualifying marks. To qualify for OTET, it is mandatory to get at least 60 % marks for the general category and 50% for the OBC/SC/ST category.

OTET Exam 2024 Summary

OTET Notification 2024- Important Dates

The complete schedule has been announced officially along with OTET Notification 2024 on 21st June 2024. As per the schedule, the link for the online application has been activated on 24th June 2024 and the application link will remain active till 5th July 2024 and the application fee can be submitted till 6th July 2024. The offline OTET Exam is to be conducted on 9th August 2024.

OTET Application Form 2024 Link

The application link for filling out the Odisha TET Application Form 2024 will be made available from 24th June 2024 onwards at www.bseodisha.ac.in. The candidates holding the minimum education qualification and interested in the eligibility test for primary and upper primary teacher posts must have to submit the applications online by 5th July 2024 (midnight).

OTET 2024 Application Fee

The OTET application form will be submitted successfully only when the required application fee is submitted. Candidates from the SC and ST categories have to pay Rs. 400/- and for candidates from the general category application fee is Rs. 600/-. Payment shall be made also through online mode with the HDFC payment gateway

Steps to Apply Online for OTET Exam 2024

Before going for registration, the candidate shall have to read the instructions, eligibility &
applicability for appearing at the OTET-2024. Candidates can appear on Paper I or Paper II or both papers as per their eligibility. The step-by-step process to apply online for the OTET Exam has been shared here.

  1. Visit the official website of the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, Cuttack at www.bseodisha.ac.in.
  2. On the homepage tab on Examination >OTET Examination> Online Application for Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test OTET- 2024> Go to Link.
  3. Candidates are redirected to a new page. If you have already registered, click the “Login” button, otherwise click on “New Registration” to register.
  4. On clicking “New Registration”, the OTET-2024 page will be displayed.  Enter your name, password (to be created by you), Mobile No. & e-mail ID and then click on the Submit tab. (you will have to enter OTP which shall be sent in your registered mobile no. and email-ID).
  5. Submit your application forms by providing personal information, eligibility criteria, educational qualification, and address.
  6. Click on the Payment & Declaration tab to submit the application fee as per category and then click on the Final Submit tab.

OTET 2024 Eligibility

Though Odisha TET is an eligibility test, however, there are certain eligibility criteria which candidates must have to follow while filling their OTET Application Form 2024. There is no specific age limit for OTET Exam but minimum education qualification is required. Below we have discussed OTET Eligibility 2024 for primary and upper primary teachers.

Eligibility Criteria for Paper-I (Primary Teacher for Classes I to V)

  • Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
  • Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), following NCTE regulations.
  • Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
  • Graduation and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).

Eligibility Criteria for Paper-II (Upper Primary Teacher for Classes VI to VIII)

  • Graduation and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with NCTE regulations.
  • Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed. or B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed.
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

OTET 2024 Exam Pattern

The Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2024 follows a structured exam pattern aimed at assessing the eligibility of candidates for teaching positions in primary (Classes I to V) and upper primary (Classes VI to VIII) schools in Odisha. The OTET is divided into two papers: Paper-I and Paper-II.

OTET 2024: Minimum Qualifying Marks

Based on candidates’ performance in the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET 2024) candidates will be declared qualified in the OTET written exam. To qualify, the candidates have to score minimum marks as mentioned in the notification and table below
