Orissa High Court Recruitment 2024, Check OHC ASO, Stenorapher Notice, Apply Online

The High Court of Orissa is inviting applications from eligible candidates for Assistant Section Officer (ASO) and Junior Stenographer (JS) Positions. A notification with a total of 182 vacancies for ASO (Assistant Section Officer) and Junior Stenographer posts in the Court’s establishment has been published on the website on 14 May 2024.

As per the official notification, the application registration process will start on 20 May 2024. Aspirants must note that the last date to apply for these positions will be 18 June 2024. Applications for the OHC ASO Recruitment can be submitted online only through the official portal, i.e. orissahighcourt.nic.in.

With the release of Orissa High Court Recruitment Notification under Advt No. 02/2024 and Advt No. 03/2024, a total of 182 vacancies have been announced for ASO and JS positions, out of which 147 are for ASO and the remaining 35 for Junior Steno. Before applying, candidates are advised to check the eligibility requirements for these positions.

OHC ASO / Jr Steno Jobs – Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • For Assistant Section Officer: A candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline or equivalent from a recognized university or institute. Also, a good knowledge of Computer Applications is required for these positions.
  • For Junior Stenographer: Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline or equivalent from a recognized university or institute can apply for these posts. Also, they have a speed of 80 words per minute in shorthand and 40 words per minute in typewriting, along with the knowledge of Computer Applications.

Age Limit

Candidates must be 21 years old, and the upper age limit is not more than 32 years as of 14 May 2024. Applicants must have been born on or before 13 May 2003 and on or after 15 May 1992. Relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable for reserved categories as mentioned below:

Registration Fee Details

Candidates interested in these positions must pay ₹500/- for the registration fee. This fee is non-refundable and non-adjustable. It will not be refunded in any circumstances. You can pay this amount through a debit card, credit card, net banking and other internet sources.

Note: SC/ST and PwD category candidates are exempted from paying the registration fee.

Orissa High Court Positions Selection Process

The selection will vary for each post. Look for the following phase of the selection process for each post:

For Assistant Section Officer (ASO)

  • Preliminary Exam: The preliminary exam will be conducted by the graduation courses subjects of General Knowledge, General English, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude.
  • Main Exam: Those qualified for the Preliminary Examination will be called for the Main Exam.
  • Computer Application Test: This test is qualifying in nature and consists of two papers, i.e. theory and skill test.
  • Viva-voce: After completing the above phase, qualified candidates will be called for the Viva-voce. The marks secured in this test will be added to the Main Examination.

For Junior Stenographer (JS)

  • Qualifying Test in English Subject: It will be a written test, which accesses the candidate’s subject-specified knowledge.
  • Computer Application Test: It will be in two parts: theory or skill test.
  • Skill Test: This test will be conducted to check the shorthand and typewriting speeds with a total of 100 marks.
