Nursing scholarships and grants are available to help nurses finance their education. There are nursing scholarships for all students. This includes undergraduates and graduate students. It also includes students who study certain areas of specialization.

Check with your state nursing board for additional opportunities. There are many states that offer nursing students scholarships and repayment programs.

Nursing and Student Grants

The Nature Conservancy and our Red Ventures partner Healthline are teaming up to honor four students who work at the intersection between health, climate change and sustainability.

Amount: $5,000

This scholarship is sponsored by Cherokee Uniforms. Each year, a new number of scholarships are awarded. The application requires an essay.

Who can apply? Any student in a nursing program accredited by the American Nurses Association may submit an application.

Amount: $2,000

The candidate must have a GPA of at least 2.0 and not be under any other obligations. The awardees practice full-time for 12 months in an area that is medically underserved.

Who can apply? This scholarship is available to all prospective clinical nurse specialists and nurse midwives who are enrolled in a California Board or Committee-approved nursing program.

Maximum: $25,000

The selection committee selects the finalists out of a group of applicants. The finalists must submit letters of recommendation, publications, awards and honors as well as other materials relevant to their field. Special consideration is given to prospective nurse educators, as well as students enrolled at accelerated programs for registered nurses to obtain a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Who can apply? Candidates must be U.S. Army nurses, either undergraduates or graduates who are serving in any position or have been discharged with honorable conduct. Children, parents, or spouses of current and former service members may apply.

The GPA must be at least 3.0. Students can submit their online application along with an essay and a personal statement. The funds cover books and tuition.

Who can apply? This scholarship is available to all undergraduate or graduate nursing students who are pursuing careers in the field of perioperative care.

Quantity: Variable

The applicant should provide official transcripts proving enrollment in the BSN program. They also need to submit a résumé and a summary (1-3 pages) of professional goals and academic achievements.

Who can apply: Members of the ARN enrolled in BSN programs who have at least 2 years experience as rehabilitation nurses.

Who can apply? This scholarship is sponsored by B4 brands and supports students who are pursuing a full-time associate degree or bachelor’s in nursing. Candidates must have at least a three-year gap between their high school graduation and the start of college.

The state’s RN license fee funds this award, which is intended to be distributed across the entire state. Online applications are accepted.

This program is used by the American Holistic Nurses Association to help nurses specialize in holistic care. AHNA members who qualify must have a valid RN license, and they also need to demonstrate their commitment towards holistic nursing.

Who can apply? This award is open to all nursing students, undergraduate and graduate level who are AHNA active members.

Coursey Enterprises offers two scholarship awards every fall and spring. The application will require a photo and a short essay.

Who can apply? Candidates must be first year nursing students in an RN program or a licensed practical nurse.

Amount: $250

The Daughters of the American Revolution sponsors this award, which is administered by the University of the District of Columbia.

Who can apply? Nursing students from the University of the District of Columbia with a GPA of 3.25 or more are eligible to apply.

Amount: $2,500

This award is sponsored by the Foundation for Seacoast Health. Graduate students who qualify should send their GRE and National League of Nursing Admissions Test results.

Candidates Who Are Eligible: Candidates living in Portsmouth, Rye or New Castle (New Hampshire), Greenland or Newington (Maine), or Kittery or Elliot or York City, Maine.

Amount: $5,000

ENA awards multiple scholarships. ENA offers multiple scholarships.

Students ENA Members are eligible to apply for all scholarships.

The Amount: Variable

The website offers scholarships to its readers who are nurses with disabilities. The applicant must have a disability that has been medically confirmed. They should also submit an essay and their official transcripts.

Who can apply? Qualifying applicants must be full-time nursing students who have or will attend a nursing school.

Amount: $250-$500

The award sponsor will define the eligibility criteria. However, most guidelines focus on a particular nursing specialization, such as emergency, critical, or oncology care. The applicant must provide a financial aid certificate and official transcript.

Who can apply This scholarship is available to students currently enrolled in the United States who plan to specialize.

Maximum: $7,500

The Vanderbilt University Nursing Scholarship supports students who are pursuing a MSN.

Who can apply? Applicants should be full-time students in a MSN at Vanderbilt School of Nursing, and have a GPA of 3.0 or greater.

The Amount: Variable

The scholarship will be administered by a forty-eight Voiture Locale. The Voiture Locale is the only place where you can apply.

Who can apply? This award is available to all students pursuing a nursing degree, whether undergraduate or postgraduate. The applicant must live in an area with a nurse training program.

Up to $1,000

The student must provide recent transcripts as well as a letter of acceptance from the college, along with a Student Aid Report/Free Federal Student Aid Application (FAFSA) and an essay.

Who can apply? Undergraduate and senior high school students must be enrolled in a full-time STEM program. They also need to have a SAT of 1290 or an ACT score of 28.

Before completing the online application, applicants must first register with Hurst Reviews. Hurst Reviews is an online review service that helps nurses prepare for the National Council Licensure Examination.

Who can apply? This award is available to all undergraduate students enrolled in AACN Schools.

Amount : $2,500 every two years

Students who qualify must demonstrate academic promise and aptitude in helping professions such as healthcare, public health or the sciences.

Who can apply? Applicants should be Jewish and born in Chicago. They must also intend to stay in Chicago following graduation.

Maximum: $8,000

This Board of Regents Scholarship is only available to undergraduates who are enrolled in full-time Kansas nursing programs. The applicant must complete the FAFSA and commit to a sponsor that is eligible, as well as complete the State of Kansas student aid application.

Who can apply This award is for LPNs or RNs who are willing to work in a Kansas-sponsored facility, such as a psychiatric or home care agency or an adult home.

The association provides scholarship awards to nursing students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The NAHN website lists the criteria for each scholarship award.

Who can apply? Candidates must be NAHN Members enrolled in a full-time accredited nursing program.

Maximum: $5,000

NBNA’s web site offers more than 20 scholarship opportunities for members. The application materials for each award vary.

Eligibility Students who are NBNA national or local members can apply. Students must be in the final year of a nursing degree program.

Amount: $1,000-$5,000

In addition to a 500-1500-word essay, candidates should also submit their name and contact details, as well as the name of their institution.

Students who are committed to improving health equity can apply for three scholarships.

Who can apply? Undergraduate students who identify as Black, Hispanic or Latino/a may be eligible to apply.

Amount: $7,000

STDLabs scholarship applicants must submit their official transcripts and essay, as well as their grade point average.

Eligible Students: All students enrolled in a degree-granting program.

Amount: $1,500

Applicants must have a GPA cumulative of 3.7, a SAT minimum score of 1300, or an ACT minimum score 27. The applicant must submit a personal essay, two references letters and two SAT scores.
