Selection Process for KPSC Group A and B Positions

The selection process is divided into three distinct stages:

Preliminary Examination

It serves as the first filter in the selection process. It is an objective type test. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination are used solely for qualifying candidates for the Main Examination. They are not counted towards the final selection.

Main Examination

Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination are eligible to appear for the Main Examination. The Main Examination consists of several papers.

Personal Interview

Candidates who score above the cut-off marks in the Main Examination are called for the interview. It assesses the candidates’ overall personality, including their leadership qualities, social traits, interest in current affairs, and suitability for a public service career.

The performance in the Personal Interview, along with the Main Examination scores, determines the candidates’ final ranking. Those who rank highest are recommended for appointment to the respective Group A and B positions.
