KARTET 2024 Notification Released, Check Apply Online Link and Application Form Last Date

The School Education Department, Karnataka, has released an official notification to conduct the Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) 2024. The department aims to hire experienced and capable candidates to fill the teacher vacancies in Karnataka.

The online application process started on 15 April 2024 and will be active till 15 May 2024. Candidates have to fill up the KARTET Registration Forms within this time frame. Candidates are required to pay a registration fee to submit the applications successfully. The KARTET examination is compulsory for aspiring candidates who want to become primary and upper primary school teachers.

As per the notification, the department will conduct this examination to select the eligible candidates to teach classes 1 to 5 and 6 to 8. Before applying, candidates must ensure the eligibility criteria and other details, which are given below in this article.

Educational Qualifications

  • For Classes 1 to 5: Candidates must have cleared and passed PUC Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) and appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). Candidates should appear in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (special education) and BA/B.Sc with at least 50% marks.
  • For Classes 6 to 8: Candidates must pass their graduation with at least 50% marks from a recognized university or institute; also, they have to appear in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.ED), or they have to appear in the final year of 4-year Diploma in B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed with at least 50% marks.

Age Limit

Candidates must be over 18 years old to apply for the KARTET examination and must be over 40 years old. Candidates must be between this age limit, and the age relaxation will follow the rules.

Application Fee Details

The department has released the category-wise registration fee. Candidates have to pay the registration fee according to their categories. It will be separate for each paper (Paper I & II). The following table describes the category-wise registration fee:

Note: Candidates who are physically disabled and differently-abled are exempted from the registration fee. The fee payment can be completed online, i.e., Credit Card, Debit Card or Internet Banking, etc.

Candidates who meet all requirements and want to apply for the “KARTET 2024” can follow the mentioned steps:

  1. Visit the official website at sts.karnataka.gov.in.
  2. Click on the “Online Application for KARTET 2024” link.
  3. After that, click on the “New User” tab.
  4. Fill in the required details and submit them after ensuring they are accurate.
  5. Then, submit your filled application form.
  6. Finally, take a printout of the registration form.
