CSIR NET Notification 2024, Registration Form, Eligibility Criteria and Apply Online

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has recently released an official notification for aspiring candidates to participate in the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test (CSIR NET). The test determines the eligibility of candidates for Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor in Indian universities and colleges.

The application link is activated from 01 May. The last date to submit a filled application form is 21 May 2024. Candidates must register within this timeframe to get rid of the last-minute rush.

The agency conducts the CSIR UGC NET twice yearly (June and December). It is a national-level examination, which will be held online at 225 test centres. The agency will take a Computer-Based Test (CBT) the the last week of June to select the eligible candidates.

The testing agency will conduct the Computer-Based Test on 25, 26 & 27 June 2024. Candidates can apply for the CSIR NET June 2024 from the official website, i.e. csirnet.nta.ac only online during the specified period. Before applying, candidates have to ensure the eligibility requirements, age limit, registration fee and other important details regarding the registration.

CSIR UGC NET Eligibility Requirements

Educational Qualifications

Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in a Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from a recognized university/ institution are eligible for this Test. The Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to Non-Creamy Layer/Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Persons with Disability (PwD)/ Third gender category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in a Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.

Age Limit

The applicants’ age must not be over 30 years as of the 1st day of the month the examination is concluded, i.e. June 2024. A relaxation of up to 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST/PwD/Third gender categories and women applicants.

Registration Fee

Candidates may use the mentioned steps to apply for this examination:

  1. Go to the csirnet.nta.ac.in website.
  2. On the homepage, click on the link to “Joint CSIR NET June 2024: Click Here to Register/Login”.
  3. Click on the link and go to the “New Registration” tab.
  4. A new page for login and identification for online submission of the Application Form will be opened on the screen.
  5. Select the identity proofs to create a User ID or Password.
  6. Now, follow the steps and submit the application form by ensuring the details are accurate or complete.
  7. Pay the registration fee online.
  8. Take a printout of the registration form for further processing.
